False anomalies
When many people get something odd in a picture, they automatically think it's a ghost. But is it really? Here are some examples of pictures with strange anomalies that are actually nothing paranormal.
Example #1

Ghost or not?
NOT! This is a picture of what most people believe is an orb, or a ghost. This particular picture is nothing more than a piece of dust blowing in the wind. HPS does NOT believe any anomaly such as this could be marked as evidence. Even if it was a true orb, there is no proof that they are ghosts, they are just balls of energy that can come from many sources.
Example #2

Look at the strange white anomaly on the left side of the picture. Ghost or not?
NOT! If you look closely you can tell it is an image of a simple bug passing by. You can see the body and wings. When moving things such as this are photographed, the camera doesn't completely focus on the object and will come out blurry. When the camera flashes, it emits a bright white like that will reflect off anything in it's path and that is what happened to this bug.
Example #3

Is this a vortex?.....or not
NOT! This is a picture of what some people say is a vortex or a passageway to another dimension. This is simply a picture of a camera strap that has fallen in view of the lens and illuminated by the flash.
Example #4 Another vortex?.......or not?

NOT! Similar to the previous picture, something has fallen in front of the lens and illuminated by the flash. This time it is a single strand of hair. You need to be careful when taking pictures and make sure that your hair is tied back if need so as to not interfere.
Example #5 Ectoplasm? Maybe a ghost?

NOT! Many people have pictures like this and call it ectoplasm or ectoplasmic mist. This is just an exhaled cloud of cigarette smoke.
